Steve’s take

Meyers Lake gives you lake life without leaving Canton. The lake is private, though. The Preserve owns the water and the village handles zoning, so you deal with both.

Who controls what

Living in the village

The Village of Meyers Lake is small: a 2019 Canton Repository report counted 323 housing units, with about half the village’s acreage under the lake. The village has rules on storing boats, trailers and campers in yards, so check them before you bring a big boat. Unless you’re in a condo association, trash service is Republic Services, contracted and billed yearly by the village ($198 for 2025–26).

The school district depends on the exact address, so check it with the Stark County Auditor. Meyers Lake is in ZIP 44708.
